Convert XLSX to CSV

CRMs, e-commerce platforms, mailing tools and databases import CSV, not workbooks. Pick the sheet and the delimiter and get a clean text file that any importer accepts.

How to export a sheet as CSV

  1. 1Drop in the workbook

Drag the XLSX file into the tool. The preview shows the top of the selected sheet.

  2. 2Choose sheet and delimiter

Pick one sheet, or All sheets to get a separate CSV for each. Use a comma unless the importer asks for a semicolon or a tab.

  3. 3Download

The file is UTF-8 with a byte-order mark, so names with accents or non-Latin scripts come through intact.

Good to know before you import

CSV stores what you see in each cell: formula results rather than formulas, and numbers as they are displayed. Formatting, comments and charts are not part of the format, so they are left behind.

If a field contains the delimiter, a quote or a line break, it is wrapped in quotes and inner quotes are doubled — exactly what standard importers expect.

Frequently asked questions

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. The spreadsheet is read and written by your browser, on your device. It only reaches Zotu's servers if you choose to save it to your cloud from the full editor.

Do I need an account or a subscription?

No. The tool is free and needs no sign-up. An account only adds cloud storage, so your workbooks follow you between devices and save themselves.

What happens to formulas?

Their current results are written. The formulas themselves stay in the original workbook.

Why is my second sheet missing?

A CSV file holds one sheet. Choose All sheets and each one is saved as its own file.

Which encoding is used?

UTF-8 with a BOM, which both spreadsheet apps and most import tools read correctly.
